About

Mission Statement:

At Raising Successful Sleepers my mission is really simple, to help your family achieve their sleep needs in the way that best serves you and your family.

I believe that Sleep Training is actually another learning opportunity for our children. My goal is never to really “train” your child (even though that’s the word the industry uses) instead I make a conscientious effort to promote this process as you would any other early childhood learning opportunity. I teach sleep with love, compassion, encouragement, and confidence.

I believe that families come in all shapes and sizes. They also all come with their own parenting methods, ideas, cultures, and needs. I make it a priority to respect those needs and work with them in every way possible. In some cases sleep training may never work with your parenting style, and with that I vow to always be upfront and honest.

I believe in educating to the best of my ability. It is my hope that once we’ve worked together, we part ways for good. I teach this process with the goal of giving you the confidence and knowledge that you need for your child’s sleep needs. While I’m always available for former clients, I intend to leave you with as much knowledge as I can.

I believe that you are the best parent for your child, and support you where you are right now. We all hit points in our lives that we aren’t our best selves, maybe due to lack of sleep that’s where you find yourself right now. I’m not here to judge, I’m here to help. You are exactly the parent your child needs and I respect your authority over your family.

Meet Brittany

I remember being so excited to become a mother. I would sit in my just finished nursery and dream of rocking my baby, holding her, laying her in her crib.

Little did I know what I was in store for. I had a traumatic delivery which left me in an incredible amount of physical pain. I could hardly stand or sit, let alone be the beautiful new mom I had envisioned rocking in that nursery.

I suffered from severe Post Partum Depression and Anxiety. And frankly, Motherhood simply wasn’t all it cracked up to be.

Sleep was my saving grace, through the efforts of a friend who was a sleep coach I learned so much about infant and childhood sleep. I learned why and how it benefited my daughter as well eased those feelings of depression and anxiety.

Being able to know when a break was coming and that my daughter would lay down without much fuss was vital to my survival as a new mom, so much so, that when my friend opened a sleep training course I immediately made plans to become a sleep consultant myself.

I would like to help you achieve a happy and healthy home, and I hope that you will allow me that opportunity.

 FAQs

  • I graduated with my certification from the Collective for Family Rest and Wellness. The program was extremely comprehensive covering everything from sleep anatomy to methods to troubleshooting, and so much more in between. Thanks to their program I’m more than prepared to handle your sleep needs.

  • There are many factors that contribute to the length of the sleep training process.

    1. The method used

    2. The temperament of the child

    3. the age of the child

I recommend the parents be ready to commit to two weeks of consistency before starting sleep training, however it’s important to remember that it could take longer.

  • Your child is going to cry.

The duration and intensity of crying will depend on your child’s temperament and personality. If you are currently unable to handle any amount of crying, then sleep training is not for you at this time.

Instead of focusing on if your child will cry, I focus on education about crying and reframing parents minds on what crying really is.

If you wish to help your child learn to sleep independently but cannot get over the crying aspect, book a free 15 minute discovery call and we’ll talk through it together.

  • All of our methods and suggestions are meant and expected to be used in accordance with safe sleep guidelines specified by accredited sources such as the CDC, AAP, and NIH.

Upon signing up for any Raising Successful Sleeper services all clients will be issued a “Safe Sleep Guide” and be expected to sign a waiver stating you received and reviewed the document.

It should also be noted that bed sharing and room sharing make sleep training a more difficult process and may not result in the results desired.

All that being said, the decision of how you parent and raise your family is up to you. While I promote and practice Safe Sleep,my job is to Educate, Encourage, and Support you, not judge your parenting choices.

  • Yes! There is no additional charge for working with multiples (twins/triplets/ect)

If you’d like me to work with multiple children* of different ages they will each require their own sleep package. Most families prefer to work with one child at a time but a discount will be available for sibling packages.

*children must reside in the same household to qualify for the sibling discount.

  • My one week and two week sleep support packages come automatically with email support.

I check my email no less than 2-3 times a day. Typically but not always around 8-10am/12-2pm/6-8pm.

If you wish to have more access to me during our time together- Text Message Support is available for an additional cost with both 1:1 packages.

  • Text Message support add-on is available for all 1:1 Packages and the Premium Newborn Package.

This entitles the client to text messaging support during the following hours for their package duration:

    Monday-Sunday

    10:00AM-9:30PM CST

    *some blackout dates apply*

  • There are a few days a year that Raising Successful Sleepers is fully closed. If you currently have a package that encompasses one of these days, one day will be added to your package to compensate.

  • No, I do not practice Extinction with clients.

Before I say why I want to point out that there is zero scientific evidence that any sleep training method, including extinction, is harmful to a child or attachment. In some cases, extinction is the best course of action for a family.

    Why I don’t practice it:

    1. . With any sleep training method, consistency and following the plan is key. Extinction is a very emotionally intense method for parents. Because of that I find it to be unsuccessful in the majority of cases.

    2. You don’t need my help with extinction! It’s a very clear cut method of closing the door and simply not returning until morning. I feel it would be dishonest of me to accept payment for a method such as this.
